Hope everyone’s New Year is going smoothly.

Progress on “A Social Dispute” has been slow but I will be posting finals around the end of next week. I’m hoping to have the prints available for purchase toward the end of January. This is taking a little longer than expected. You can view the roughs on my other blog here —> FishHookStudio.com

I’m also excited to say that The Morae River will be moving to an actual website soon as well. I’ve finished the layouts and have handed it to my builder. I’m really excited about what we are doing with it. This blog will remain online but will transform into a news portal and will show more of my process and rough work as well as some inspiration.

In introducing the newest species, The Black Mardik, I’ve realized that a few of the species might need some editing. Whether it be the classification or the actual depiction, most species will be re-posted once the website is up and running. Some have been drawn mostly from speculation and might look very different the next time around so expect some new faces soon.

The Morae River is now available through Blurb.com as a 56 page book! It includes all of the animals and plants on the blog thus far and a few that haven’t been posted yet. You can find the link to the book in the sidebar or follow the link below for preview and purchasing. This book will only be available for a limited time (until the end of November) I am looking into an independent printer here in the States to print thicker, heavier versions of the complete book within the next year or so.

Work on the Morae River has been moving forward slowly, however, a new species (The Red Tailed Mardik) should be up by this next week.

For those of you who read this blog, expect for the writing to change a bit. Animals are being categorized into groups and will belong to a family and genus. Some posts might go missing this next week as I will be updating drawings and changing the descriptions for a few of the animals as I find out more about them.

Larger Illustrations will also be viewable in a lightbox-type format soon after the Red Tailed Mardik is posted. This will help with detail and some other work I haven’t been able to post yet due to sizing problems. The smaller black and white Illustrations you have been seeing so far will also begin to show up in color in the next month or so.

I will be having a show with The Morae River and it’s Inhabitants in late October at CCAC in San Francisco. If you live in the bay area, you should stop by. Ill be posting dates soon along with flyers on my websites.

I am wanting to have a full webpage up soon so the blog might become more of a news portal to support the website. Although, because of the scale of the project, this may not happen until early January of next year.

The Morae River Blog is slowly beginning to take shape. The Morae River will also be available as a book by October. The book will contain the first half of species along the river – those that reside in the highlands. The test print arrived in the mail today and looks great so far. A little more work and additional content will make the book really great.
